Crown Place, Swansea
Contract Value: £4.1 Million
Main Contractor: Midas
Client: Crown Student Living
F P Hurley was awarded the contract for the design and build of the mechanical services installation at the student residences situated by the Rive Tawe in the Swansea Waterfront area. Crown Place in Swansea will be F P Hurley’s fifth student residences for developer Crown Student Living, after completing earlier projects at Reading, Norwich, Portsmouth and Cardiff.
The development is being built at a landmark location in Swansea’s Waterfront, which has undergone huge regeneration in recent years. The 8 storey high residences will provide 645 student bed spaces in the form of plush studios and 2-bedroom duplex flats. The development will also provide many desirable facilities including an on-site cinema, gym, plush lounges and communal areas.
The accommodation is set to serve two different universities: Swansea University’s Singleton and Bay campuses and University of Wales’ Trinity St David’s new SA1 campus.
F P Hurley developed the full mechanical design in BIM from Stage 1 and our site team are expected to start in Spring 2021.
