Job Vacancy – Mechanical Project Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our growing South West division, based in Portishead, Bristol. You will be managing commercial projects from concept to completion and will be working collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors. As a Mechanical Project Manager you will be responsible to ensure the contracts are completed according to schedule and budget undertaking effective planning to make sure the contracts completed are profitable.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects from estimation to completion
- Carrying out site surveys
- Ensuring the work is completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality
- Managing the direct and subcontract workforce
- Managing the timely procurement of plant and materials
- Ensuring all works are undertaken safely using risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
- Ensuring understanding of and compliance to all company policies and procedures
- Ensuring activities comply with all necessary H&S and environmental requirements
- Ensuring quality workmanship is adhered to with the use of our Procore QA software
Qualifications & desired skills:
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Effective planning and project management skills
- Experience of working on large new build and refurbishment projects
- Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of electrical systems and their installation methods
- Good people management and motivational skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively in a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and clients and to produce clear and concise reports
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
- Strong leadership skills and be able to work as a part of an established team
- Good IT skills
- Full driving licence essential
- HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services preferable
