Delighted to Sponsor Swansea Gladiators Mixed Ability Rugby Team

F P Hurley is proud to sponsor Swansea Gladiators Mixed Ability Rugby Team with a donation which allows them to purchase a new kit for the whole team in preparation for their third International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART) due to take place in Cork, Ireland, in 2020.

With a motto of ‘Friendship through Sport’, Swansea Gladiators is an integrated rugby team for people with disabilities and their friends. Players come from a variety of backgrounds and have a wide range of learning disabilities, including Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, sensory and physical disabilities. The senior team plays full-contact rugby with passive scrums, whilst junior teams take part in tag rugby.

F P Hurley’s Senior Estimator and member of our Charity Committee, Robert Raven, visited the training ground to present the donation. He comments:

We are incredibly proud to be able to support such an inspirational team which has such a positive impact on the players’ lives. I am amazed by all the hard work and commitment that goes into the team, and the level of determination the players show. The team provides a welcoming, safe and non-judgemental environment where players can socially interact and thrive. We hope they will be delighted with their new kit.
