Salisbury District Hospital, 24 Bed Imber Ward

Main Contractor: BAM

Contract Value: £2.2 Million

Client: Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust

F P Hurley delivered a brand new 24 bed, dementia friendly ward at Salisbury District Hospital. The new state of the art Imber Ward incorporated a mixture of four-bed bays and side rooms that will support Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust’s elective recovery programme. Working under BAM Construction, our team delivered the mechanical services which included heating and hot water from air source heat pumps (ASHP), chilled water, ventilation, air conditioning, above ground drainage, BMS, medical gases and a pneumatic tube system. The programme was extremely fast paced and it was critical we met key milestones so that the Trust could receive their funding.

By providing extra bed capacity, Imber Ward will underpin the hospital’s elective recovery programme. The extra beds mean elderly care patients will be cared for in a dedicated space, in turn this will allow our surgical beds to be better utilised to deliver much-needed elective care such as day surgery.

The project completed in June 2024.
