Job Vacancy – Electrical Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our growing electrical division. Based in Bridgend within our in-house building services design team, you will have the chance to work on a wide range of high profile, complex projects and operate across multiple sectors, such as commercial, education, healthcare, residential, hospitality and retail.

You will be required to take a lead role on your projects, representing the company at meetings and being the main point of contact for our clients. You will lead the project team and assist in the mentoring of our junior and trainee engineers. You will be required to report on your projects to the M&E Design Director.

Qualifications & Desired skills:

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Degree qualified in Building Services or HNC/HND
• Able to lead design and deliver engineering solutions on medium/large complex projects as part of a team
• Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Knowledge of the relevant design standards, legislation, and emerging technology
• Sustainability focussed
• Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
• Be conversant with industry design software
• Have an understanding of ‘designing to a given budget’
• Proactively and energetically interact in a cross-functional team environment and be open-minded to new ideas and concepts
• Be able to work collaboratively with others to form a strong positive working relationship with colleagues, wider project teams and clients
• Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
• Contracting experience beneficial, but not essential as in-house training will be provided
