F P Hurley Pledge to Spring Clean Cymru
F P Hurley was delighted to take part in Spring Clean Cymru, a two week campaign run annually by Keep Wales Tidy. The campaign, which is part of a larger UK wide effort to tackle litter, calls on individuals, households, businesses, schools and formal community groups to clean up the litter that has blighted our parks, streets and beaches since lockdown restrictions have eased.
The event ran from 28 May to 13 June 2021 and volunteers were required to pledge how many minutes they spent cleaning up their communities, which will be converted to miles and added to the Great British Spring Clean for a UK total.
Several employees volunteered their time, under the Company’s Volunteering and Community Engagement Policy, dedicating their mornings to cleaning up some litter hotspots in Bridgend County and Cardiff. Our volunteers spent over 14 hours picking up litter in several outdoor spaces, including Sophia Gardens in Cardiff and Coney Beach in Porthcawl, both of which are suffering from ongoing litter problems since lockdown restrictions eased.

Making a positive and meaningful environmental impact is an important priority at F P Hurley, and we want to inspire people to love and care for their local environments. Volunteering is also a great way to give back to the communities in which we work, and helps to provide a more rewarding, engaging and meaningful workplace experience to employees.
